The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), led by
its Ministry of Health (MOH) and with the support of the Department of
Health (DOH) has achieved, as of April 17, a vaccination coverage of
72% (71.60%), equivalent to 981,805 children aged six months to below
ten years old now protected against Measles following the outbreak
response immunization that started last April 1, 2024. The total
target eligible population is 1,371,284.

The top three BARMM provinces with the highest vaccine coverage are
Maguindanao del Norte (233,310; 91.2%), Sulu (229,960; 89.5%), and
Maguindanao del Sur (190,217; 81.8%).

The following municipalities in BARMM provinces are high performing,
with 90% to more than 95% vaccination coverage: for Maguindanao del
Norte – Barira (10,353 or 93.5%) and Buldon (11,492 or 93.2%); for
Sulu – Hadji Panglima Tahil (2,305 or 101%), Tongkil (11,021 or 100%),
Tapul (5,357 or 98%), Parang (16,599 or 93%), Panglima Estino (7,928
or 91.1%), Lugus (7,557 or 90.9%), Old Panamao (10,145 or 90.3%),
Talipao (21,889 or 90.1%); for Maguindanao del Sur – South Upi (12,679
or 97.1%), Pagagawan (11,584 or 96.4%), Datu Paglas (10,842 or 96.4%),
Datu Anggal Midtimbang (9,127 or 95.5%), Guindulungan (6,911 or
94.5%), Talayan (9,626 or 93.3%), Datu Unsay (3,278 or 93%), and Datu
Piang (7,525 or 91.5%); and for Tawi Tawi – municipality of Turtle
Islands (91.6% or 1,433).

The DOH sincerely thanks the collaborative efforts of the MOH BARMM,
the region’s local government units, healthcare workers, development
partners, and other public and private sector partners who gave their
different technical and operational support.

The DOH continues to urge all parents, guardians, and caregivers to
protect their children from Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPDs) like
Measles by ensuring every child is vaccinated.
