Discussions continued with the nation’s medical societies as they presented to us their response to the seven (7) points that they identified as critical areas of improvement to the healthcare system.

We compared our existing inventory of initiatives with representatives from the Health Professionals Alliance Against COVID-19 (HPAAC) and they provided us operational recommendations for executing programs at the local government unit (LGU) level.

The One Hospital Command project, a centralized platform form a naging secondary and tertiary care resources, is already operational and was officially launched today. In addition to this, HPAAC committed to help build LGU capacity on scaling up telemedicine, particularly in developing clinical algorithms, which can link up to the One Hospital Command.

The DOH has organized the offices to lead the development of each program, assignments have been distributed to them, and they will be collaborating with civil society groups to finalize execution details shortly.

The HPAAC representatives and the DOH are in agreement that implementation will continue to be national government enabled, LGU-led, and patient-centered. The medical societies have provided us with valuable input regarding the successful case studies at the LGU level. This will help the country address the target areas of improvement in a strategic manner.

Specific resource persons will also be assigned per strategy to work with the department so that all recommendations are considered.

Today, the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (C.O.D.E) officially begins .C.O.D.E is a protocol that will begin active case finding through close coordination between DOH representatives and communities across the country.

The time spent during the two-week MECQ is being maximized to ensure we are adequately prepared to return to GCQ. Plans are materializing and we continue to see meaningful engagement with our partners in the private sector and other government agencies.

While many of us will endure the challenge of restricted movement, let us continue to reinforce the minimum health standards. Through these, we can keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. Together we can beat COVID-19, together we can #BIDASolusyon.
