The Department of Health, in support of the Duterte Administration’s anti-corruption campaign, fully supports the NBI in filing complaints based on findings of irregularities in the public bidding and construction of the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) Pavilion 6. The complaint was a result of the investigations led by Medical Center Chief Dr. Roland L. Cortez and OIC-Medical Center Chief Dr. Allan Troy Baquir.

A complaint for graft and malversation of public funds was filed against several NCHM officials and its contractor over a P60-million NCMH Pavilion-6 Pay Ward project. The project has been mired by procurement irregularities and remains unfinished despite a Certificate of Completion issued by NCMH officials to the contractor.

The Department of Health will not hesitate to pluck “weeds” from within its ranks and bring them to justice, as it presses on with the Universal Health Care agenda.
