PHILIPPINE MIGRANT HEALTH RESEARCH AGENDA

Migration has long been a part of the reality of various countries, especially of the Philippines. Such culture of migration has undeniably brought about positive outcomes like remittances, diaspora philanthropy and transfer of skills and knowledge. However, the health of Filipino migrants has only been given attention in the international community recently. Locally, the establishment of the Philippine Migrant Health Program highlights the pressing need to promote and protect the health of migrants and Overseas Filipinos.

Objective #2 of the Philippine Migrant Health Program Strategic Plan 2016-2022 aims to improve policy, plan and management systems in support of Migrant Health. The Policy, Advocacy and Research Technical Working Group of the Philippine Migrant Health Network has endeavored to develop the Philippine Migration Health Research Agenda or the PHIMHRA.
