The Malasakit Program Office (MPO), an Office under the Department of Health (DOH) established by virtue of Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, is the Office mandated to oversee the operations of Malasakit Centers (MCs).
Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 11463 o kilala rin bilang Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, ang mga Malasakit Centers na matatagpuan sa loob ng mga pampublikong ospital ay nagsisilbing One-Stop Shop sa pagbibigay ng Medikal at Pinansyal na tulong mula sa DOH, DSWD, PCSO, at PHIC para sa mga Pilipinong nabibilang sa klasipikasyong ”indigent” o sa mga indibidwal na sumasailalim sa malaking hamon pang pinansyal upang matustusan ang matagalang gamutan o gastusing medikal.
The Malasakit Program Office (MPO) shall abide by and implement the mandate of the Office through the observance and effective implementation of Republic Act No. 11463 of 2019 or the Malasakit Centers Act which aims to establish Malasakit Centers across the Country and providing funds for the medical assistance of indigent and financially incapacitated patients.
The Malasakit Program Office (MPO) shall be the lead Office in the DOH promoting and strengthening the Government’s Malasakit Experience- the positive experience of people in accessing healthcare services in a timely and compassionate manner, thereby respecting and upholding the rights and dignity of patients.
The Malasakit Program Office Manual of Procedures (MPO-MOP)
The Malasakit Program Office (MPO), an Office under the Department of Health (DOH) established by virtue of Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, is the Office mandated to oversee the operations of the Malasakit Centers (MCs). To accomplish the said mandate, the MPO has the following roles and functions:
- Develop policies, guidelines, plans, systems, and standards related to the Malasakit Program and Malasakit Centers;
- Oversee, monitor, and evaluate the implementation of the Malasakit Program and the operations of the Malasakit Centers;
- Oversee, monitor, and manage DOH Funds;
- Assume accountability of the proper disbursement and utilization of DOH funds, including its use for the establishment and operationalization of Malasakit Centers;
- Provide technical assistance to ensure the successful implementation of the program;
- Evaluate and recommend the approval of the application of new Malasakit Centers to the Undersecretary/ Assistant Secretary of the function team/ cluster where the MPO is lodged;
- Coordinate with other departments, bureaus, agencies, and other instrumentalities as may be necessary for the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the Malasakit Program
The Malasakit Program Office-Manual of Operations (MPO-MOP) aims to establish and document the various processes, strategies, and activities of the MPO in the attainment of the abovementioned Office objectives.
