The Department of Health (DOH) today reported that the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or Bayanihan 2 has allocated about PHP 53.48 billion-- almost half of the 165 billion stimulus package--for the support of healthcare workers (HCWs), sustaining the drive of the DOH and keep HCWs protected while at the same time preventing the influx of patients into hospitals. The Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, also known as Republic Act No. 11469, has provided critical support to healthcare workers (HCWs) valiantly containing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, in the forms of urgently needed equipment and hazard pay, as well as additional colleagues to bolster their ranks. Officially enacted from March to June 2020, the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act is a crucial core initiative of the Department of Health (DOH) to respond to the needs of HCWs. The National Capital Region, Region III, and Region IV in particular have been classified as priority areas with elevated requirements for human resources for health (HRH) such as doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. |

Quezon City, Philippines - The DOH partnered with Quezon City's local government to deploy the country's first end-to-end telemedicine project, which will strengthen the LGU's ability to provide patients access to medical consultation. DOH issues Press Release: Statement on circulating list of COVID-positive patients
The Department of Health (DOH) has received reports of lists containing names of COVID-19 positive patients being released publicly and shared around social media. The DOH reiterates that while RA 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act) provides public health authorities the statutory right to access personal information to enable effective response, it also requires said authorities to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to them.
