DOH REMEMBERS FIRST YEAR DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF DR. DREYFUSS PERLAS, SLAIN DOCTOR TO THE BARRIO

Officials and personnel of the Department of Health on Thursday remembered the first year death anniversary of Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas with a mass offering at the Shrine of St. Lazarus inside the DOH compound.

Dr. Perlas, or Drey to his friends and colleagues, was a government physician deployed to Lanao del Norte under the DOH’s Doctors to the Barrios Program.

He was shot dead while riding his motorbike on March 1, 2017. He was on his way home after conducting a medical mission in Sapad, Lanao del Norte.

One year after his passing, the Filipino medical community is still seeking justice.

Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III offered his sincere thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Dr. Perlas.

“I am offering my most sincere thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family of Dr. Dreyfuss Perlas. The DOH is one with his family, friends and colleagues in the Doctors to the barrios Program in seeking justice for his untimely death,” Duque said.
