Following the signing of the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA) or the  national budget into law, the Department of Health (DOH) is working closely with its regional offices in processing the documentary requirements for the deployment of our health workers.

The 2019 GAA provides around Php8.5 billion for the deployment of DOH Health Human Resource (HRH). This will fund our request to convert the HRH deployment program items from Job Order to PS-Contractual to make our HRH eligible for the Magna Carta benefits.

We are now awaiting the National Budget Circular from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for guidelines on the utilization and disbursement of funds. Once issued, this will give us an indicative timeline of deployment.

Priority areas for deployment, aside from GIDA barangays, are identified municipalities with indigenous cultural communities, 4th/ 5th/ 6th class municipalities, and areas with urban poor communities.

Rest assured that we are doing all that we can to efficiently process the deployment and we very much appreciate the extraordinary patience of our HRH.
