The Japanese Government, through the United Nations International Children's Fund (UNICEF) Hands Over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Select Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities of the Philippines

(20 July 2020) – Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III, Undersecretary Mario C. Villaverde and a representative from the Bureau of International Health Cooperation visited the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) for COVID-19 patients on the afternoon of 20 July 2020. Together with them were representatives from the Japanese Government, led by His Excellency, Ambassador Koji Haneda, and representatives from the UNICEF Philippines, headed by Ms. Oyunsaikhan Dendevnorov. The Philippine National Police, through Coronel Ferdinand U. Madrillejo, Police Coronel Glenn V. Torres, and Police Coronel Michell A. Arban, were also represented during the visit.

The visit was also the venue for the ceremonially handing over ₱36,000,000.00 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning and disinfectant kits to the TTMFs which the UNICEF donated through the Government of Japan.
