Bureau of International Health Cooperation (BIHC) Participates in the Ceremonial Turnover of Donations from Universal Entertainment Corporation (UEC)

(09 February 2021) — The Department of Health (DOH), duly represented by Undersecretary Leopoldo J. Vega and Assistant Secretary Romeo A. Ong, attended the ceremonial turnover of 5,000 units of UV-C irradiation sanitizers donated by UEC. The turnover ceremony was held in the morning of 08 February 2021 at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City. Dr. Joel H. Villanueva, Division Chief of the Bureau of International Health Cooperation extended assistance to the DOH officials as the representative of the BIHC.

 

During this ceremony, Mr. Kenji Sugiyama, Chief Managing Director and head of the Okada Manila board of directors, turned over the donations to Undersecretary Vega and His Excellency Ambassador Kazuhiko Koshikawa of the Embassy of Japan.

 

Okada Manila is a subsidiary of UEC. The UEC also previously donated 500,000 masks last June 2020.
