USAID Shares its Health Project Performance Evaluation Report for 2019

(17 May 2020) – On May 15, 2020, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Philippines – Office of Health hosted an online learning and dissemination forum on the contributions of USAID’s Health Portfolio (comprising 11 projects) to the Philippine government’s tuberculosis (TB), family planning (FP), adolescent and reproductive health (ARH) programs, and universal health care (UHC) initiatives. The forum aimed to share key findings from the annual evaluation and solicit priority recommendations to optimize USAID technical assistance in fiscal year 2020 and beyond.

 

High-level feedback was provided by key resource persons and USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting for Improved Health (CLAimHealth) champions including: Department of Health - Bureau of International Health Cooperation (DOH-BIHC) Director Mar Wynn Bello, former DOH Secretary Esperanza Cabral, Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) Executive Director Jaime Montoya, and Commission of Population and Development (POPCOM) Executive Director Juan Antonio Perez III.

 

Ms. Bryn Sakagawa, USAID/Philippines Office of Health Director, acknowledged the strong cooperation among the DOH, POPCOM, and USAID implementing partners, which directly contributed to improving the health of underserved Filipinos.
