(11 May 2020) – The Department of Health (DOH), through Undersecretary Mario C. Villaverde and Director Ariel I. Valencia, attended the turnover ceremony of the third batch of donations from the People’s Republic of China last May 10, 2020 at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) main lobby. Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr., of the DFA, and Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., who heads the National Task Force for COVID-19, formally accepted the donations from H.E. Ambassador Huang Xilian. Also in attendance were Undersecretary Brigido D. Dulay and Assistant Secretary Meynardo L.B. Montealegre of the DFA, and Chief of Presidential Protocol, Undersecretary Robert Eric A. Borje.
The donations included 6,250 RT-PCR testing kits capable of conducting 150,000 tests, 70,000 protective suits, 70,000 N95 masks, 1,300,000 surgical masks, and 70,000 medical protective goggles.
