(23 March 2020) – A total of 4,167 reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) kits (equivalent to 100,000 tests), together with 10,000 pieces of N95 masks, 100,000 pieces of surgical masks, and 10,000 protective suits were donated by the People’s Republic of China last March 21, 2020. These donations were turned over to the Philippines formally at the warehouse of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
In attendance were Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. and Undersecretary Brigido D. Dulay of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Undersecretary Mario C. Villaverde of the Department of Health, Undersecretary Robert Eric A. Borje as Chief of Presidential Protocol, and H.E. Ambassador Huang Xilian of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
