(22 June 2020) — Toyota Motors Philippines Corporation (Toyota) turned over 17 Toyota Vios vehicles to the Department of Health (DOH) in a ceremonial event which was held in the Department of Health - Office of the Secretary on 19 June 2020. Present during the turnover ceremony were Secretary Francisco T. Duque III, Undersecretary of Health Gerardo V. Bayugo, His Excellency Ambassador Koji Haneda and Commercial Attaché Mr. Takahiko Shiba of the Embassy of Japan, and various Toyota officials headed by its President, Mr. Atsuhiro Okamoto and Chairman, Mr. Alfred V. Ty. Also present during the ceremony were Dr. Edmundo B. Lopez of San Lazaro Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel F. Montaña, Jr. of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Marilou T. Nery of San Lorenzo Ruiz Women's Hospital, who represented three (3) of the 17 beneficiary hospitals. The event was organized through the joint effort of the staff of the Bureau of International Health Cooperation and the Field Implementation and Coordination Team.
During the ceremony, Secretary Duque and Toyota President Okamoto also signed a memorandum of agreement between the DOH and Toyota PH.

Besides the 17 DOH hospitals, the corporation also donated 13 Toyota Vios vehicles to augment resources of select local government unit hospitals around the country.
