DOH issues Press Release: Top industry leaders pledged to BIDA Solusyon The Department of Health (DOH), with support from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), hosted its official partners’ launch for the “BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19” campaign on Friday, July 24, with some of the Philippines’ top business leaders and government agencies, signaling a multi-sectoral push to reinforce protective behavior that can lead to economic productivity. DOH issues Press Release: Despite rise in COVID-19 cases, CFR continues to decrease Despite the rise in COVID-19 cases, the country’s case fatality rate (CFR) shows a decreasing trend. Both numbers also indicate that the death rate might be reaching a point of stability. These findings, presented by epidemiologist Dr. DJ Darwin Bandoy on Monday’s Beat COVID-19 Virtual Presser aired last July 20, present a more encouraging outlook of the Philippines’ fight against COVID-19. “Makikita po natin yung pag-improve. DOH issues Press Release: SOH clarifies pre-SONA statement on flattening the curve This is to clarify the statement of Secretary Francisco T. Duque III, on flattening the curve, made during the Pre-SONA Forum. The statement is based on the reported lengthening of the Case Doubling Time (CDT), or the time it takes for the number of cases to double. The CDT is a measure of how quickly an outbreak spreads. Low CDTs mean faster outbreaks, while higher CDTs mean slower outbreaks. Case doubling time is computed using historical data, and should not be used to predict the number of cases after a period of time... |

DOH issues Press Release: IATF-EID boosts Taguig’s SMART Program The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) spearheaded by Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III turned over 2,000 PCR test kits, 150 hygiene kits, and 10,000 personal protective equipment to the City Government of Taguig as it expanded its Systematic Mass Approach to Responsible Testing (SMART) Program. Taguig City’s SMART Program provides multiple testing touchpoints such as home testing conducted by a team from the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CEDSU), testing in accredited facilities and laboratories in the city, and drive-thru testing.
