DOH issues Press Release:SOH spearheads coordination meeting with Laguna COVID Task Force
The COVID-19 Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) team headed by Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III facilitated the Laguna Task Force against COVID-19 coordination meeting today at Hotel Marciano, Barangay Real in Calamba City, Laguna. DOH issues Press Release: SOH, COVID Czars inspect Navotas City; promote city’s best practices to other LGUs
On the first day of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III, together with COVID-19 czars Secretary Vivencio Dizon and Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, checked on the situation of Navotas City and its efforts in managing COVID-19 cases. The officials were welcomed by Congressman John Rey Tiangco and the city’s COVID-19 response team headed by City Health Officer Dr. Christia Padolina. As of August 3, the City Health Office of Navotas reported 662 active cases and a 13% positivity rate. According to Dr. Padolina, they experienced a surge of cases mid-July which prompted the city government to place some areas of Navotas under lockdown. Through the support of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), Navotas City was able to manage and decrease its cases through intensive testing and isolation measures...

DOH issues Press Release: DOH updates on collaboration with healthcare workers in improving COVID response
As our comrades on the ground recommended using a timeout to allow us to regroup and improve our pandemic response, the DOH immediately engaged them to create solutions. This “timeout” will be used to take a few steps back and see our COVID situation in a bigger picture. Yesterday afternoon, the first of a series of collaborative meetings with the representatives of over 100 of the country’s medical societies took place to recalibrate our current strategies. Representatives that will form the working group have been identified from both DOH and the alliance of healthcare professionals. The working group will collectively come up with strategies to address the following critical areas: 1) health workforce deficiency, 2) contact tracing and isolation protocols, 3) transportation and workplace safety guidelines, 4) proper distribution of social amelioration, 5) testing capabilities to ensure we are using the appropriate tools in detecting the COVID infection, and 6) cascading of protocols to the local government units and the private sector...

DOH issues Press Release: DOH tags 38k recoveries from Oplan Recovery
Due to enhanced data reconciliation efforts with local government units through OPLAN RECOVERY, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 38,075 recoveries in its July 30 case bulletin, bringing the total number of recoveries as of July 30 to 65,064. The same reconciliation efforts also explain the 3,954 cases reported today, of which 1,320 cases are fresh cases, and 2,634 are late cases. In addition to the 909 validated recoveries from the submitted reports from the regional epidemiological surveillance units, DOH recorded 37,166 additional recoveries from OPLAN RECOVERY, which is an initiative that the Department activated to monitor the statuses of confirmed COVID-19 cases....
