FOREIGN JOURNALS

BMJ Specialty Journals

These online specialty journals together with other BMJ publications are made available for free to developing countries by the British Journal Publishing Group.

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journal)

This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. There are now 1254 journals in the directory. Currently 320 journals are searchable on article level. As of today 60075 articles are included in the DOAJ service.

Freemedicaljournals.com

A selected list of free full-text online electronic medical journals, with emphasis on journals that are included in  MEDLINE. Most of them have no trial period stated by the publisher, and will presumably be available permanently, some are available on free trial basis and some journals have links to back issues (archives), also to representative recent issue with full-text unless noted as selected.

HighWire Press

Offers free online access to developing economies, based on either programs such as HINARI, or on a HighWire-based program offering access to countries appearing in the World Bank's list of "low income economies," plus Djibouti. Individual publishers use the list from the World Bank as a guideline for determining their policies, so some variation in access per publisher does occur. You do not need to sign up for this service the  software automatically detects the country you are connecting from and grants access accordingly

Consumer Health Journal

For consumers, CHJ is a free, monthly journal dedicated to providing in-depth health information that isn't swayed by market or advertiser demands.  With articles from study result analysis (pregnancy and alcohol, milk and cancer) to lighter fare (health insurance for dogs, the geography of fat), CHJ tries to publish information that is otherwise hard to come by
