BFAD HEALTH ADVISORY No. 01-01 Date Issued: 26 March 2001
In the light of current publicity concerning the alleged curing qualities of Glo-Herbal drink/products, the Bureau of Food and Drugs hereby advises the general public that these products are NOT REGISTERED with the Bureau NOR ALLOWED TO BE ADVERTISED OR PROMOTED FOR ANY THERAPEUTIC INDICATION.
The manufacturer of said products have not submitted scientifically valid proofs to show and substantiate the therapeutic effects that are being claimed for the products.
Persons who are taking the products as medication are being warned that the products may give a false sense of security to those who are really in need of medical help. Thus, rather than getting an eralier diagnosis or medical attention, their dependence on the alleged curative effect of the products may lead to more serious complications.Iron Capsule, Voltaren SR Tablet, Inoflox Capsule, Verorab Injection
In view of these findings, the BFAD hereby warns all drugstore owners, pharmacists, and consumers that counterfeit drugs are present in some outlets and must therefore take all necessary measures and precautions to prevent the retailing, dispensing and usage of such counterfeit drug.
This advisory is issued in the interest of public health and safety.
